Overview

As herd and prey animals horses are keenly aware of their companions and environment, and react quickly to any changes. In this way they act as a mirror to what you’re bringing with you. If you’re trying to bottle up and hide unresolved anger, the horse will feel it and react in anger himself.

Asanas, yoga poses, help you to develop physical strength and body awareness, while pranayama (breathing techniques), help you to focus, concentrate and become still in your mind, opening the space for deeper understanding and intuition.

Location

We're in the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, in the town of Punta Cocles. Cocles is between the main town of Puerto Viejo and the quiet beautiful Manzanillo.

In our area you'll find all manner of tropical wildlife, Caribbean culture, reggae music, surfing, local and international cuisine, great vegan options and the most relaxing beaches.

You don’t need experience with horses or yoga to join this retreat. All you need to do is open yourself completely to a new experience and embrace every moment.

Throughout the week you will find yourself lowering your guards and releasing all the emotions you’ve been holding on to, this alone will grant you the ability to connect with horses and improve your yoga.

Howler's Cottage :Located 50m away from Kindred Spirits, inside our gated community.

Treevana Tree Houses: Break down the feeling of separation that exists between humans and nature (situated in front of Kindred Spirits).

We strive to keep it as seasonal, organic and vegan as possible. We can also accommodate any food allergies you might have.

Breakfast: Enjoy preparing your breakfast with our welcoming basket of seasonal fruit, coffee & tea, eggs, butter, jam and milk.

Lunch : We all (volunteers, interns, guests and myself) come together at the main house for lunches and dinners. A lunch will typically consist of two or three types of salad with bread or tortillas, but it all varies with each cook and their inspiration.

Dinner: Dinners are typically curry, vegetarian stews, vegan loaf, etc.

Through guided meditations and sharing space with the herd, you will be able to better quieten the chatter in your mind, lower your stress levels, and reconnect with your inner self.

During the yoga classes, you will create mantras to set our intention for the week and practice pranayama, breathing techniques to bring subtle awareness and balance the energies within your bodies.

During the asana or yoga poses, you will incorporate energy healing work to unblock old issues of pain or emotional trauma.
