Reviews

Before I attended this training, I worried because I am not a “flexi-bendy” body type and I was not sure if it was appropriate for me to sign up. But immediately upon arriving I began to feel encouraged and supported in matters of acceptance of my body and that was an extremely precious experience to me.

I loved the philosophical elements, the chakra lessons, the yoga practices, and especially the restorative and body power yoga classes. I loved the power class because I had so much FUN.

The philosophy and chakra elements helped me to understand my own body and its health needs better and I have always loved and resonated with philosophical matters, teachings, and dharma. Eyes of love was such an important and encouraging concept to be introduced to. The location was also super beautiful, and the manual was thorough and was and will continue to be a really helpful reference!

I finally feel encouraged to feel confident about my home-practice. I am able to find poses that do me good, that support my body in its own way of being and that was an extremely important takeaway.

An attitude of acceptance and engagement in my yoga practice is something I will continue to take to the mat after this training. I will certainly be interested in returning to Soma Yoga Institute for more training and in recommending this program to others!

Thank you and Namaste.

I originally got into yoga to help with my professional surfing, it really helped me improve and eventually, I started practicing and learning more yoga than I did surfing. I chose this yoga teacher training because it covered all aspects of yoga, and I really loved everything about it.

Liz and Molly are amazing teachers they are a dynamic duo, so much knowledge and personality that made the learning fun and enjoyable.

Being a guy in the program, I felt totally comfortable and appreciated the healing and sacred energy of the group and the retreat center. I feel ready to teach yoga, and I plan on starting right away.

I felt like I had some breakthroughs and I learned a lot about myself. Super grateful for the whole experience.

I came looking for training help and instead I got every tool I needed to train and help myself throughout my life. I feel so empowered! The curriculum was carefully crafted and was so perfectly well rounded. It provided everything I was looking for. The instruction and educational style was hands-on, so I never struggled with my learning disability.

The location, weather and group size were all perfect and I felt so loved and cared for. The wealth of knowledge the teachers have is amazing, especially with how the yoga industry is evolving. The manual and continuing eduction is so fantastic and I would love to do the advanced teacher training and learn more about alignment and catering to my class. I have already recommended this program to others and the 200 hour training has me excited to come back for the 300 hour training.

I was greatly effected by the experience the resining provided. I was struggling with my mental health prior to this experience but this training gave me the tools for self-care and the strength to employ them so I am well-equipped now. I now know not only how important the space of yoga is to allow people safety and growth, but also the magnitude of the work that foes into creating and holding this space. Yoga is a life long journey and I feel more connected than every. This experience has deepened my love for yoga and my need to share it—

I am a crazy confident WARRIOR WOMAN!

The alchemy of this 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and its combination of the teachers, students, Kalani Oceanside Retreat, and the Big Island made it an unforgettable, life-changing, and amazingly lovely experience.

I came for knowledge and what I got was so much more. I learned that without a doubt I am where I am supposed to be, doing what this world needs me to do. I feel so blessed to have met all the beautiful, magical people and I know I will hold a special place in my heart for all of them.

I loved the sutras, going deeper, hearing everyone's perceptions and how the philosophy manifests in their life. The meditation practice became something I can not do without and I greatly cherish that opportunity to find my way with that. It has been an honor and a blessing to spend time with two amazing teachers, Liz and Molly.

Thank you, this has been such a magical journey.

The program is definitely going to change my life and how I move around in the world and interact with others, I am deeply inspired to continue developing my own practice and to continue learning about using yoga as therapy for mind, body, and spirit.

I was continuously amazed by the breadth and depth of the program it offered such a wide view pf yoga as a holistic practice. We dove deep enough untie each topic, that we were able to intertwine it back into future conversations, and all of the lessons build on each other so well.

I loved learning about myself and how to care for myself through the Ayurvedic doshas!

I loved having the opportunity to get personalized guidance from my teachers, which helped me feel sure of myself and more confident in my teaching.

I would definitely return to SYI and will be recommending it to anyone I meet who wants to learn more about yoga If there is a better 200-hour yoga teacher training out there, I would be astounded!

This training was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn’t have had a better experience.

Thanks for setting me up for success.

I enjoyed the depth of the curriculum. I am so thankful that we learned about yoga history and philosophy because I didn’t expect that to be as big of a portion of what we learned but I am really glad that it was.

Getting to work with such a diverse group was a huge highlight for me as well. I also appreciated the differences in personality between Liz and Molly while they still aligned on core concepts.

I am leaving this training feeling confident in my abilities as a yoga teacher. I have already recommended this training to others I know and will continue to do so, and I also look forward to returning to Soma Yoga Institute in the future.

I learned a lot more about different aspects of yoga which was a departure from my normal practice which I think was very beneficial for me. This training and the people I met here will only positively affect my life going forward.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
